Hi there,

one of our customers would like to use Powerbuiler on Windows Server 2022.

Questions:
Does anyone have any experience with it?
Is the MS Server 2022 supported?
If so, in which version.

We are currently using PB2019R3 2670

Thanks in advance
have a nice day
Stefan

Hi.

MS Server 2022 isn't supported as it was released after PB 2021 was released. And you must be aware that even windows server 2019, 2016 & 2012 R2 are only supported for powerbuilder runtime. Not for the IDE.

From PB 2021 Installation Guide (System Requirements - - Installation Guide (appeon.com)):

Supported by PowerBuilder IDE and Runtime:

Windows 8.1 32-bit or 64-bit

Windows 10 32-bit or 64-bit (excluding Windows IoT and Windows Embedded Compact)

Supported by PowerBuilder Runtime only:

Windows Server 2012 R2

Windows Server 2016

Windows Server 2019

If you decide to go on with the IDE on a windows server, and encounter an issue, to get support you will have to replicate that issue on a supported platform (currently for pb 2021 it is windows 8.1 and windows 10).

Here is a link with the equivallent information for PB 2019R3: System Requirements - - Installation Guide (appeon.com).

Andreas.
