Machine: Dell i5 CPU, 64 bit, 16g ram, Windows 10

From the IDE I run our application, log in, open a couple of windows, inserts, updates, & deletes. Crashes after about 5-8 minutes. Just pops-up a windows stating "Appeon PowerBuilder 2017 R3 has stopped working"

Hi Kevin;

It was just a thought. Quite often, that procedure has fixed these type of App issues before. So I just wanted to make sure that you tried that first. I see that you have indicated that you opened a ticket for this issue. Hopefully, there is a crash dump to go with the failure. If not, then this could be a really hard one to isolate for the cause.

Just another side thought .. any changes to the DBMS side of the App? For example, a newer DB Client driver. I ask about this as a flaky DB driver can randomly bring down a PB App faster than falling space debris. Also, a mis matched PB run-time can do the same thing randomly.

Thanks Chris, it was an easy test, so no worries. As for DBMS side we are using the PB native ORA driver against our 11g Oracle database.

Hi Kevin;

   After updating to PB2017R3 did you...

  1. Perform a FULL Build?
  2. "Optimize" all your PBL's (repeat step#1 again)?
  3. If you are using the PFC - did you update the PFC libraries as well?

Regards .. Chris
