Hi everyone,

As I read in other questions, the LOWERED! BORDER in the DataWindow column does not work in the PowerBuilder 2017 R3 1880 version. Although we can see it in the design of the DataWindow when the DataWindow is seen from the window the column looks like it does not have a border. But my question is Why it works in Texts objects but not in Column and Compute objects?

Best Regards,

Oscar Naranjo

Hi Oscar,

For PowerServer, please go to AEM > Application > Client Features > %your application% to set Web Application Theme to 'Windows Classic'.

Hi Oscar,

When deploying a PB app as EXE, you can select whether to use Windows Classic Style or New Visual Style since PB 10.

As for New Visual Style, there are new UI styles designed in some controls in PB including Column and Computed objects in DataWindow.

If you don’t select ‘Windows Classic Style’, it will use ‘New Visual Style’ by default. At this time, the Column and Computed objects don’t support 3D Lowered anymore.

 If you still want to have 3D Lowered in Column and Computed objects of DataWindow, you can check the ‘Windows Classic Style’ in Project object and then verify it via deploying a PB app as EXE.

Regards,
Ken

Hi David;

I just tested the text control in the DWO and it does not render the 3D lowered setting. Instead, it portrait's the Text Control with a thin "wired" border (in all browsers) when the 3D lowered setting is used.

Chris thanks for taking the time to test. Just want to verify. When you tested the "text" object did you set the "UseVer5Control=1" that Ken stated? If NOT I wonder why when we run our browser (I.E.) text objects that are set as 3dlowered are actually displaying 3dlowered in the browser, which is why we have the inconsistency of texts showing 3dlowered and columns/comp Fields showing the thin white border.

Hi David;

That PB.ini setting does not affect PS Web applications. As Ken properly stated (in PS2017 or S2019) you can log into the AEM PS Console and force the deployed Web App to use the "Windows Classic" style. That renders the 3D lowered effect better. Note that this setting does not affect IWA based applications.
