PowerBuilder v12.1, build 7055
Windows 10, 64 bit platform

Summary
I'm trying to install PBv12.1 onto a Mr. Jeff Steven's VM. Everything seems to have installed correctly, but I cannot get PB to recognize the valid license!

Any ideas on how to to get this working?

-- Steps taken:
1. Valid license file created for and downloaded onto the platform
         OMACSGITHIN8607.csgicorp.com_20180823_190246.lic

2. SySAM v2.0 installed correctly in C:\SySAM
Added the IPv4 and IPV6 folders
    Started LMTOOLS
Set the LMGRD pointer to "C:\SySAM\SYSAM-2_0\binIPv6\lmgrd.exe"
    Successfully re-read the license file

3. Ran services.msc and verified that the SySAM service was running

4. Started PB
Tools --> Update License --> Stand Alone Seat - Served, finish the wizard
   Restart PB
   Still using the EVALUATION license.
   Reboot the VM
Repeat this step with the same result.

Thanks, Chris.
I read the installation guide for SySam, and I have done everything precisely as specified.
The SySAM TASK is running in "services.msc".

I ran the logs in PowerBuilder and got this error:
13:58:49 (lmgrd) Rereading license file... Requested from jeff.stevens@OMACSGITHIN8607
13:58:50 (lmgrd) Can't send reread to SYBASE: No socket connection to license server manager. (-7,10015:10054 "")

I ran the LMTOOL server diagnostics and got this error:
This license cannot be checked out because:
A PACKAGE component must be specified.
Feature:       PB_ENTERPRISE
License path:  C:\SySAM\SYSAM-2_0\licenses\OMACSGITHIN8607.csgicorp.com_201808 -
   23_190246.lic
FLEXnet Licensing error:-125,147

Both seem to have to do with a connection from the platform to the SAP portal, but I was unable to determine a way to even see if the SySAM app was being blocked by the Windows Firewall because it was not listed as one of the programs that WF inspects.

I'm at a standstill.

1) I've no idea why the Flexnet server cannot reach the SAP portal
2) When I try Updating the license using the PB utility to change to a local serverd license, it never takes - it reverts back to "Stand-alone served".

I'm out of ideas at this point.   :(

Hi Olan

If you are installed PB on virtual Machine like citrix

1 run "Fix EBF" accord to installation (VDI)

2 Check your file properties, there are many types of licences (Trial, Standalone, Dispenser, Server)

3 Generate license accord type as per SAP

--- May be you need generate type Dispenser

RESOLVED!

After going back over the steps repeatedly, and having verified the license file. I went back to LMTOOLS and re-pointed the files, re-read the license, and restarted the server.

Brought up PowerBuilder.
Tools --> Update License --> follow the steps, but this time I copied the "computer/hostname" of the server from the ystem Settings tabpage, and pasted it directly into the "Computer Name of the License Server". and finished the Wizard.
Restarted PB and the license was now valid.
