Unable to run SalesDemo_Restufl from R3, Under installed code examples I cannot find the SnapDevelop solution to go with SQLAnywhere as defined in help. there is one for PostgreSQL.

I found this help document, the instruction suggest a specific sln for SQL Anywhere.

 

 

"This application contains examples on calling Web APIs via RESTClient. Therefore, for the application to run successfully, it is necessary to enable the Web APIs by the following steps:

a. Open SnapDevelop IDE, and then open the .NET-DataStore-Example solution.

If your demo database is SQL Anywhere, the solution is available in %Example Sales App%\Restful_PB\dotnet-datastore_asa\.NET-DataStore-Example.
If your demo database is PostgreSQL, the solution is available in %Example Sales App%\Restful_PB\dotnet-datastore_postgresql\.NET-DataStore-Example.

b. Test and run the Web APIs in the solution by following the instructions in the README.md.

If your demo database is SQL Anywhere, the README.md is available in %Example Sales App%\Restful_PB\dotnet-datastore_asa.
If your demo database is PostgreSQL, the README.md is available in %Example Sales App%\Restful_PB\dotnet-datastore_postgresql."

Hi Shoaib,

The templates you find in that folder were created when you installed PowerBuilder and selected which samples to install. It appears you chose to install only the PostgreSQL sample, or you didn't have SQL Anywhere on your machine when you installed PowerBuilder 2019 R3. In order to install the SQL Anywhere sample project you need to reinstall PowerBuilder 2019 R3 and select the respective sample project and database.

I was able to find the right database (PSDemoDB) and able to see tables in SQLAnywhere but when I ran the app from R3 , I am getting DB errors (JPG attached)

The demo database that gets installed should be called PBDemoDB2019R3, are you connecting to the correct database?

Yes I have checked it is "PB Demo DB V2019R3", I also have db profile created in R3 just to test, it shows tables. but if you look at the error msg in the above attachments it says "User ID Sales not found" or User ID Person..."

Should the DB have schema names?.

Please see the new attached JPG , I have shown DB &table lists, Connectionrings from appsettings.json and

code from Startup.cs in SanpDevelop project..



Thanks so much for helping me, I really have to understand how API works.

I may have the right database not the right tables. is there any Log file in backend.

I can't seem to reproduce the issue by myself. The demo works just fine after a clean installation of PowerBuilder. I recommend you submit a bug report so that we can track this issue and see it followed up.
