Good day Community

I'm reorganizing the PBLs of a project.

This project is more than 20 years old and has many objects present in more than one pbl.

Is there a method or utility to get the list and location of duplicate objects?

Thanks in advantage for your replay

Gimmy

Hi.

I use a free tool named PBL Peeper for that.

To show duplicate objects you have to:

  • Load your target.
  • From the main window, select the Lists tab.
  • In the left size you have a list of tabs. Select objects.
  • From the View menu select show and choose "Duplicates only"

If you want to try it you can find it at the following link:

All you have to do is click on Duplicate Objects on the Reports dropdown toolbar. When the report is done, you can run a visual diff program against the objects to see if they are the same or not. You can also delete objects directly from the report.

Hi,

You can use Visual Expert to track duplicated objects

While reorganizing PBLs, you may need to understand the dependencies between your PBLs.
For instance, PBL#1 includes objects, referencing other Objects in PBL #2, etc.

You can then drill down and explore the references at PowerBuilder object & code level...

Regards,
Christophe
