Hello,

In a few earlier discussions, Appeon has given some hints regarding the features that will be made available in future releases of Powerbuilder.  I would like to know whether it still holds good.

1.  HTML datawindow
2.  Latest 64 bit TX Text Control / 32 bit TX Text Control
3.  Feature addition to Native PDF Generation
4.  Modern Graph
5.  Any plan to include Export to Excel facility?

Hi Sivaprakash,

Yes the list still holds good.  But I'd like to change the priorities according to their latest statuses (The first can become available in 2019 R3 and the others will come in the later releases):

1.  Latest 64 bit TX Text Control / 32 bit TX Text Control
2. Feature addition to Native PDF Generatio
3. HTML datawindow
4. Modern Graph

And I'd suggest that you consider a third party solution for the Export to Excel facility, for example Dw2xls.  There is no plan to directly integrate the functionality into the product yet.

Best regards, Julie

Something I have done with a non-PB app is to save data as HTML using .xls as the file name extension. Then when the file is opened in Excel, it displays an error message but after clicking OK it gets converted to xls format and you are able to save it.

Roland,

That workaround works for normal Dw's without slideup columns, I think. It goes weird when there are columns with slide up property.
