Just an FYI to others about PowerServer licensing. I spoke with their sales department by phone and was informed that they only support a single instance of PowerServer per physical server. This is limiting for our "normal" deployment configuration where we have many WebSphere profiles per physical server for different environments (dev, int, test, stage, prod) and different versions of our applications. This is as opposed to how IBM licenses WebSphere where you pay based on the processor capability of the server regardless of how many profiles you are running on that server. As was advised to use a single WebSphere profile to deploy everything and change the name (route) of the application to reflect the environment and version of the application. This is obviously not ideal from a deployment perspective. I really wish they had the ability to purchase a fixed number of user sessions per server and then be able to arbitrarily allocate those across multiple PowerServer instances.
