Hello everyone,

 

Can we upgrade our PowerServer Enterprise Edition & Workgroup Edition to 2017 R3 1880? We are working with PowerServer Enterprise Edition & Workgroup Edition to 2017 R3 1858 and we don't find the new update.

Hi Mariano,

Thank you for your quick response, 

Our machines have PowerBuilder and PowerServer toolkit Appeon 2017 R3 1880 and our server have Appeon PowerServer 2017 Build 1858. Do you recommend upgrading the server to PowerServer 2019 build# 1988?

The new version Workgroup/Enterprise PowerServer 2019 build#1988 has the same updates that the PowerServer (PB Edition) 2017 R3 Build 1880?

Hi Oscar,



I do recommend you upgrade your production (Workgroup and Enterprise) Editions of PowerServer 2019 eventually, as its usually a good idea to be on the latest version.

However, I would wait until PowerServer 2019 Developer (PB Edition) is available in June of this year so you can also update your Developer edition of PowerServer and have all your PowerServers running the same 2019 version.

To answer your questions, PowerServer 2017 (PB Edition) Build 1880 is not the same as PowerServer 2019 builds.

Hi Oscar,

Production editions of PowerServer (Workgroup and Enterprise Editions) don't follow the same versioning naming scheme as PowerBuilder and PowerServer (PB Edition).

Currently, the latest version of PowerServer Workgroup and Enterprise is PowerServer 2019 build# 1988.

The version right under this one is PowerServer 2017 build #1756.

If you want to be on the latest version of PowerServer 2017 (Workgroup or Enterprise), then make sure you're on build #1756.

You may also choose to update your PowerServer (Workgroup or Enterprise) version to PowerServer 2019.

Downloads for production editions of PowerServer (Workgroup and Enterprise) are not located on the User Center. Please contact Appeon's sales dept for download links.
