Hi,

as i just had Powerbuilder crash on me once again.

Soi would like to hear the communties experience with crashes in the IDE.

I did crash as i was changing the font on ca. 20 selected objects.

Am i alone with periodically crashes on object saving, changing fonts, edits text or basically anything in powerbuilder?

What are the best practices dealing with it, except saving all the time?

Are there any plans on appeons side to make powerbuilder more stable?

I have seen the roadmap for the IDE, but no explicit mentions about stability.

Sorry if i come across as ranting, but i just lost quite some work because i forgot to save every minute.

Regards,

Ferdinand

Is there anything in the windows event viewer logs when you have a crash?

We actually did quite a bit of work to clean up memory leaks from Sybase days.  Most customers say Appeon versions of PowerBuilder are more stable.  But of course, there are still crashes.

If PB IDE frequently crashes for you and you know what steps to reproduce then we can most likely resolve it. Please open support ticket with steps to reproduce. Thanks.

That is the problem. Those are not reproducible crashes. At least i can not reliable reproduce them.

Oh, this is not good news. There's not much we can do to fix your issue if cannot reliably reproduce. There are general tips that others should chime in, such as not opening too many painter windows, etc.
