If you are not using Oracle version-specific features then the Oracle native driver that comes with PBv7 >>> SHOULD <<< connect successfully to an Oracle 12 database. The easiest way to get the answer is to test it by creating a new Profile in the Database Painter and see if you can connect.

Oracle 19 is a different beast. While Oracle allows for backward compatibility, I'm not sure if the Oracle 8 driver that comes with PBv7 will be able to connect with an Oracle 19 database. Again, assuming you have one of these databases accessible, just create a new Profile and see if you can connect.

Hi Jim, I recommend you upgrade your PB 7 app to 2019 R3.  2019 R3 supports Oracle 19c, plus if there are problems you can get tech support and bug fixes.  Also, we have consulting partners that can help you quickly upgrade your app to 2019 R3.

  From the PB 12.6 Help ...

Table 10-1: Supported native database interfaces for Oracle Oracle interface DLL
O90 Oracle9i       PBO90126DLL
O10 Oracle 10g   PBO10126.DLL
ORA Oracle 11g   PBORA126.DLL

     So the answer seems to be NO for PB7, older SAP & Sybase PB versions only supported up to 11G. For O12C, 18C and now 19C - you would need to be on a supported version of Appeon PB.

   From the PB 2017 R3 documentation ...

O10 Oracle 10g                                  PBO10170.DLL
ORA Oracle (for 11g, 12c and 18c)       PBORA170.DLL

  So for O19C you would need to be using PB 2019 R2 or higher.
