Hello,

We have a requirement connect Powerbuilder 6.5 with Oracle19c database.

Currently, we are using connect Powerbuilder with 6.5 with Oracle 10g.

it's a migration requirement at the oracle client end.

is it possible to connect Powerbuilder 6.5 with the Oracle19c database?

regards

jagadeesh

Hi jagadeeshwar;

   FYI:  Appeon PB2017R3 MR1915 and PB2019 MR2170 just released at the end of 2019 were the first PB versions certified for O18C and 19C.

Regards ... Chris

Thank you, Chris, I will inform this valuable info to my management.

Please can you suggest to us, what is the best procedure to migrate Powerbuilder 6.5 version to PB2019 MR2170?.

Follow the information on this page, especially the migration resources at the bottom of the page: https://www.appeon.com/products/power-builder/migrating-to-pb.html

Along with Armeen's great link, this might also be very helpful ...

I would think that the native drivers would allow you to connect to Oracle 19c.

You know, of course, that PBv6.x is ANSi and Oracle v9 and above is UNICODE, but since you are currently connecting to Oracle 10 this is an issue you have already resolved.

My best advice is to simpy try it! If that doesn't work and there are no clever solutions from this forum, you can try connecting using ODBC.

Good Luck,

Olan
