Hi Olan;

  Most likely its because:

1) The Data Pane in the DB Painter is a DataWindow

2) No DWO will allow saves if

  • A "unique" index is not present      // or
  • A primary key is not identified

Adding one of those to your schema for that table should enable saving.

Good idea, but not in this case as I'm acceessing an old table that has been around for ages.

Thank you for your response!

Hi, Olan - If you want to save your changes to the result set data, I believe you need to use the "Save Changes" toolbar button or Rows > Update from the menu.

haha, I went nuts trying to find the "cancel retrieve" icon when previewing a datawindow

It's anti-skewmorphism gone too far, a current trend since the introduction of flat design. No line separators in menus, headers, or images, text in light gray difficult to read, and of course, flat icons hard to identify.

Ricardo, I completely agree!

The current trend has emphasized appearance over usability, which is just stupid.
