 Another developer and I both have a license for PB 2017 R3 which is installed on our own windows 10 PC.  The Sign Out settings "Auto login at startup" "sign out on exit" were both checked.

Our organization will be moving to windows 11, so PowerBuilder 2017R3 was installed on a windows 11 PC for us to do some testing. We set the" Sign out" settings on to  "Auto login at startup"; unchecked and "sign out on exit"; checked.

The problem is when you open PowerBuilder on the windows 11 PC and select login,  the credentials of the last user is there and you can use that person's license. 

Is there a way to clear the credentials for the last user on exit, at least clear the password ?

Hi Henry,

If you click on your username on the upper right corner of the IDE, you should see a "Remove remembered credentials" link on the User Account window. Click on this link and that will clear the credentials saved on this machine.

Additionally, you can click "Sign out" to go to the login window. There you can uncheck "Remember credentials" after unchecking "Auto login at startup."

If you don't see these options, you will need to upgrade to a newer version. As 2017 R3 is EOMM, we suggest that you upgrade to 2022 R2 at your earliest convenience.

Hi  Henry;

  Yes, that would be a side effect of running PB 2022 on a server where the PB developer credentials are also shared. This is a known negative behaviour. However ...

Hi Chris.

 

Our W10 are physical machines but the W11 machine is a VM. The VM is created a WIN2012 server. The issue occurs when use the VM  The last person's credentials remain.

Hi Henry;

   This sounds like your running on a "server" not your own individual W10 machines? Unless your sharing the same physical W10 machine, that should not happen.
