Hi PB users,

Some client start to speak about Modern authentication with Microsoft Office. Originally, the cutoff date for Basic Authentication was supposed to be October 2020. However, due to COVID-19, Microsoft has decided to push back this date until the second half of 2021.

Do you know if mailSession Powerbuilder instruction is impacted with this evolution?

On our side we just have implemented  SMTP SSL/TLS capabilities on our product, but it's considered as basic authentication. (https://www.topwizprogramming.com/freecode_emailsmtp.html)

Any solution or experience with this project?

Best regards,

I have the same doubts.

Meanwhile I think the way to go is MailKit: https://github.com/jstedfast/MailKit

Maybe easier to code and more examples if coded in C#

regards.

I remember sometime back, Appeon CEO was talking about email dll to send and receive emails from within PB application.  Not sure whether this is still in their agenda.

Hi Pierre;

   Please open a Support Ticket for this question as an enhancement request for improving the MAIL API in PB to meet this requirement. This ticket will then serve to get this enhancement on Engineering's official ToDo list.

Many thanks in advance!

Regards ... Chris
