Hi Ahmed;

   Yes, PowerServer (PS) can both webify and/or mobilize your existing PB applications without rewriting. However, you may still want to refactor your current Apps a bit for a better Web or Mobile UI experience.

   PS can be used with free App Servers like IIS or jBoss for example. PS Web & Mobile comes included with PB2017R3 Universal edition. So your additional PS costs would only be for production licensing. For more details please contact our Appeon Sales team at sales@appeon.com.

Hi Chris Pollach

thank for your reply

as I understand that if I purchase PB2017 R3 Universal edition , the PS is included with it - so I can convert my client/server (desktop) app(pb 11.5) to be web app which could be run from any browser using IIS

but what is "additional PS costs for production licensing" is it cost for every user uses my app ??? so if there is about 100 user connect to my app i must pay for every one??

No, PowerServer is not required.  Your other option would be to use PowerBuilder 2018 Cloud Edition to convert your business logic into C# assemblies and then you would need to yourself create ASP.NET pages that consume those C# assemblies created by PowerBuilder.  In PowerBuilder 2018 R2 we plan to add ASP.NET development capability so that you can just use one tool to do everything.

You will need to decide if it is smarter decision to save the money on PowerServer licensing and go through the additional work of creating the ASP.NET pages yourself.

Hi

Beta version of PowerBuilder 2018 will be Available Dec. 31, 2018 -when the real version will be available ?

also PowerBuilder 2018 R2 you plane to a add ASP .Net to it - when the real version will be available ?

if use PowerBuilder 2017 R3 universal edition as Chris Pollach says PS can be used with free App Servers like IIS but "additional PS costs would only be for production licensing" what is this ?? and for PowerBuilder 2018 universal edition is this also true??
