Hello there,

We have created an installation package with the help of InstallShield and it went into success as our all previous packages are from installshield only. This installation package deals with PowerBuilder 2022 as we had to upgrade TLS. Now, to upgrade TLS windows should have MSOLEDBSQL SQL Server ( MSOLEDBSQL19 we are using) and this needs the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable and we have manually installed the driver and redistributable and all went fine.

Now, our client wants to include this new MSOLEDBSQL driver and Redistributable into same package where application resides or at least these two into separate package. Though google suggest we have way in InstallShield to include Database driver into package but, it is not working ?

Do you guys know any other method or anything where we can bundle this up into Installation Package ( msoledbsql database driver and redistributable ) ?

Thanks

Vijay Jha

What is error message that you say not working?  Do the users have admin rights?  I believe to install MSOLEDBSQL driver the user needs admin rights.

It is not working means I am unable to add application, database driver & redistributable into a single package by using InstallShield. Could you help me with the proces/thought on how to add application setup, database driver setup & redistributable setup into a single package by using InstallShield ?

Sorry, I personally don't have experience with InstallShield so can't give you any suggestions.

Hi Vijay;

   My suggestion would be to contact the InstallShield support team for the answers to that question.
