Hello,

What I've been noticing from time to time for quite some time is an issue in how datawindows work with PDF printers (I saw it with Free PDF in Win7, Microsoft Print to PDF in Win10, Amyuni PDF Converter in both Windows versions, probably other PDF printers that I don't remember anymore). When I have columns in the detail band with auto-sized heights and the detail band has an auto-sized height, and data are such that the resulting page layout is a few pixels away from either keeping the last row on the page or moving it to the next one, the DW sometimes pushes it to the next page in the print preview mode but keeps it on the page when it is printed to PDF. I don't remember seeing this with "real" printer drivers. Now, when I'm facing this issue once again, I went back to PB10.5 and had a look at the same DW with the same data (with Free PDF), I was surprised to see that the layouts were identical in print preview and in a PDF file. On the same PC with the same DW and data, 12.5 pushed a row to the next page in print preview and kept it on the page in a PDF file, so the issue seems to have been introduced after 10.5.

For years I have not been able to come up with a suitable workaround except for tweaking DW layouts - with no guarantee that the issue will not appear again with other data. I was wondering if anybody had similar experience and maybe came up with a better workaround.

Konstantin

I don't know of any easier workaround than what you already do.

SAP PowerBuilder 12.6 is the source for Appeon PowerBuilder albeit with several pieces missing due to SAP or third party licenses. That's the reason you see behavior like PB 12.5 until feature is modified/replaced/extended .
