Hello,

I just intalled the PowerBuilder 2017 R3 IDE 1858 on my computer (W7). I have a valid online license.

When I launch the IDE, I have to log in: I type de mail address and password, then Log In. PowerBuilder crashes.

Do you have any idea ?

Thanks in advance

Pierre

PS: I tried also to install the release 1880, same problem.

Pierre -

   Read through the install instructions CAREFULLY! Is one of the required set-up configurations is even a little bit off it can cause horrible problems.

   Especially check the settings on IIS.

Hi Olan;

FWIW: IIS would not be related to the IDE issues Pierre is experiencing.

Hi Pierre;

  It could be because the IDE's toolbars somehow got all messed up. If this happens, the IDE will crash at start-up for sure. Try the following ...

  1. Start REGEDIT utility
  2. Navigate to "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sybase\PowerBuilder\17.0\Toolbar"
  3. Delete the entire Toolbar entry & its sub-ordinates
  4. Try to start your PB2017R3 IDE again.

HTH

Hi Chris, Olan,

Thanks for your answers.

Today, I wanted to test your suggestion, but now I have no problem to launch the IDE ... The only difference is that now I'm connected immediatly on the enterprise network, and last Friday I was connected through SafeAccess (from home).

Is there something to check in the SafeAccess parameters ?

Pierre

Hi Pierre;

Yes it could be an issue with that VPN software.
