Hi all,

My colleague, just back from a longer leave, cannot start Powerbuilder due to this message:

You have lost connection to the license server (https://api.appeon.com) for more than 5 days. Powerbuilder is shutting down. Please re-establish your network connection before starting Powerbuilder again.

We have tried several steps, e.g. log in manually (instead of Auto login at startup), re-assign her license, changing the password but nothing helps.

Does anyone has any advise to fix the issue?

Thanks and regards

Angela

What you describe was a known bug in a very old build of PowerBuilder 2017.  I guess you have not applied any maintenance releases in a long while?

I would strongly recommend you upgrade to PowerBuilder 2017 R3 MR # 1915.  This is the most stable version of PowerBuilder, plus you get lots of new features and long-term support by upgrading.

If you really cannot upgrade now, I think you be able to workaround the problem by going to the license portal and doing a force logout of the problematic user: https://account.appeon.com/logout-user/pb

Few minutes ago, the issue has been solved. It was a network issue.

However, we are planning to upgrade to Powerbuilder 2019 within the next weeks.

Glad to hear that! Make sure to upgrade to PB 2019 R2 instead of PB 2019.
