Hi Everyone:

I need to modify a PBL report in Infomaker. I am getting an error that says

ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

Do you want to correct errors?

I used to be able to click No and still be able to save the changes I made and the report would work just fine in the application. I understand Infomaker believes there to be errors with the table or view. However, I believe it is only happening because the view is referencing an Oracle temporary table. Any way to force the query to save even though Infomaker thinks there is a problem with it?

Hi Chris:

It took me a bit, but did sort out that it was a table or view permission issue. After breaking the query down, I discovered the user I was using didn't have access to sys.V$INSTANCE. Once I gave grant permissions, I was able to make the modifications needed.

Thanks!

Hi Daren;

Thank you for that information! Your error could be because ...

1) Is the IM IDE connected to the wrong DB instance. Can you see the View / Table you expect using when using IM's Database Painter?

2) It could also be because the DB User ID that you are using that logs into O19C does not have access to that View or it's related Table(s).

3) Even if the Table and/or View(s) are not present in the DB instance that you are connected to, when any such error message appears like this - you should be able to continue in "Syntax" mode (vs Graphic)?

Hi Daren;

  Can you tell us ...

  • Version & build of IM that you are using?
  • Version & build of Oracle that you are using?

Regards ... Ch6
