I have a problem configuring Appeon enterprise manager(AEM) for converting into web. I was not able to connect to an oracle native driver or an ODBC. Its says "Problem occurred when running in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit oracle component installed". I have not been asked for the type(32 -bit or 64 -bit) while installing power server. Yet i face this issue. Can anyone provide me work around please?

FYI,

Powerbuilder version: 2017 R3

Database: oracle 11g

Operating system: Windows 10

Hello,

just for completeness, are you using PowerServer 2017 or Powerserver PB Edition?

In either cases, you are running a 64bit version of PowerServer (which is good since you have a 64 bit Windows).

Therefore, you can fix the issue installing the 64bit Oracle drivers too.

PowerServer will detect the 64bit drivers and will connect properly to the DB.

PowerBuilder instead will continue using 32bit drivers.

Best,

I am using powerserver 2017 on Appeon 2017 R3 edition. FYI, am running on windows 10. So are you saying that power server can run only on 64 bit oracle driver?

If you have installed the 64-bit version of PowerServer then yes you must use 64-bit Oracle driver. Since your machine is 64-bit by default the installation program will install 64-bit version of PowerServer.
