Hi All,

We are using a Powerbuilder 2022 R3 application and it uses AmyUni tool for PDF conversion and printing. Recently we have upgraded AmyUni from 6.0 to 6.5 version and below changes are done in the application code:

  • Changes to point to new amyuni activation code wherever it is being referred in the application
  • Changes to refer to cdintfEx.cdintfEx.6.5 and CDIntfEx.Document.6.5
  • Replace of Ole controls belonging to PDFCreactiveXClass to point to 6.5 version

All these changes were needed as part of upgrade. Other than this. there is no change done to the logic where printing was happening.

If the default printer is set as AmyUni, then all screens where print is enabled are throwing “Printer not activated error code -30”. But print was working fine in AmyUni 6.0 with same code in place.  Can anyone let us know what the issue is as this is not allowing users to set amyuni as default printer.

Thanks,
Sailaja.

I have an Amyuni example, it includes 6.0 but it should be upgraded easily.

Hi, Sailaja -

Does the same error appear if you print to the AmyUni printer from a non-PB application, such as Word or Notepad? I suspect it will. I did a quick web search using the keywords "amyuni pdf converter printer not activated" and got several hits.

I suggest you contact AmyUni support about this issue.

Best regards, John

Hi Sailaja;

  Unfortunately, the AmyUni feature is not part of the Appeon PowerBuilder product. For these type of issues, you would need to contact the AmyUni vendr's support team directly to help you resolve this issue (IMHO).

Regards .. Chris
