Hi,

I have a clinic application which created in Powerbuilder 2021 with SAP Sqlanywhere database and it is working morethan 5 year in a local network.

Now, they want to work this application from different location and I have space in AWS .

Can I configure the specified databse in AWS and can work from different location. If yes, help it's configuration method.

OR

any other solution ?

Power Server too expensive.

Where are you located and how many users do you have that you say PowerServer is too expensive?

Located @ UAE.

For that Client only 30 users

You mention "for that client"... if you are OEM or reseller situation, you should contact sales@appeon.com for OEM license options and costs.

Hi Shameem;

  I've been doing the old PowerServer & SA on AWS for over a decade now (since 2010 actually) with no issues. The new PS 2020 cloud edition works great for me too on that platform.  HTH

But, Clinet nto ready to pay PS cost. For that client only 30 users.

Unfortunately, public cloud systems can be a lot more costly than private cloud systems. You'll have to weigh the cost per user vs the return on investment (ROI) to your users. It might be better to just leave them in a standard Client / Server model.

I think PB 2021 was released just two years ago...

Ok. coming to the possibilities.
1.   Go with PowerServer.   As you said it may not be cost effective for all users/applications.
2.   Re-Write applications to call  db calls as WEB API's.   This could be written in any server side languages (like PHP, C#, ...)

Recently one of my customers (non-technical) told me that the client/server applications could be installed (copied) in Cloud and can work.   I'm not sure about this possibility, yet couldn't get much information from him, as he is non-technical and got this idea (?) from one another software developer.   If others have any idea about this, kindly share.

Application developed 12.1 version and migrated to 21 before 2 years.
