Resolved Wiered Display issue

Hello,

PB 11.5, SQL Server 2012 Express

In one particular Win 10 machine, few text fields don't get displayed.  The same program is working fine in all other [Win 7 & Win 10 ] machines.  Only this machine doesn't display anything [just blank ] for those fields.  Displayed fields are :

[1 row ]   Date              Account Name                              Debit Amount           Credit Amount
[2 row ]                       Narration [ Auto size height ] 

Issue is with Account Name & Narration columns, all other columns gets displayed.  We see only blank in those two columns.   

Couldn't understand where the issue could be.   Any point where to start debugging will be greaetful.

PB 11.5 was "End of Life" and not only is not supported, but was never supported on Win10.  You really need to upgrade to Appeon PB 2019.  If you wait a couple of weeks, PB 2019 R2 is supposed to be out.  Lots of great new features in it, totally worth the upgrade.

Thanks Kevin. This particular issue is with that particular desktop only, in other Win 10 computers, it's working (displaying) fine. Though 11.5 is EOLed, I don't think text fields won't get displayed in Win 10 computers.

Btw, more talk about 2019 R2. Would like to know what enhancements are there for a simpler desktop application development, that don't use any C# features ?

I imagine that some of the problems with W10 display might also affect older PB versions.

It's a wild guess, but worth checking for:

Do you have your Scaling for text in your W10 display settings set to anything else than 100 %?

If so, try setting it to 100 %.

A lot of laptops, typically set the scaling factor for text display to 125 %.

In two columns, that gets displayed as blank, one is a normal text field with no autosize height settings.

What if you do a GetItem..() on those empty fields?

Are they only not showing the contents or are they really empty?

Hi Sivaprakash;

   On the W10 machines that are not rendering, I would suggest ...

1) Make sure that the video drivers are up-to-date.

2) Make sure that the GDIPlus.dll is up-to-date.

3) Check the default printer as DWO's get their fonts from there.
