Hello

Installing Appeon Runtime 2022 64 via msi, it fails on a customers PC. I get an error message shown below.

What's the reason? The PB Software is running, but it is not possible to print native PDF documents. After printing, there is no error message (maybe I do unforunately not care about a return code) , and the files are missing.

HRESULT 2147024769

Any ideas?

Thank you

Stephan

tx4ole30.ocx has dependency on mfc120u.dll and msvcr120.dll, did they get installed with the PB runtime?

Hi Roland,

all three files exists in runtime directory,

tx4ole30.ocx date 31/03/23

mfc120u.dll date 04/10/13 (quite old)

msvcr120.dll date 07/07/16

I run the packager msi file first at installation, before the files of my PB App is installed.

Hi.

I'm not sure but maybe they have to be located in C:\Windows\System32 as you are deploying a 64-bit compiled application. Another thing that you may consider is to add pb runtime folder in PATH, but this won't work while you run the installer... Generally I do prefer to install Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 to the computer.

Also you must be sure that the bitnes of those dll's is the same as your runtime and of course the exe you created.

Hi Stephan;

Does the MS-Windows user have "Local Admin" privileges when installing the PB runtime MSI?

Hi Chris

I build a package using Appeon Runtime Packager and executed it by "Run as Administrator". It ist running without any trouble so far. Only this one customer has the problem. My Application is not able to print PDF documents afterwards.

If your using the NativePDF feature, then there are extra runtime DLLs required. That should also be an option though in the PB Packager.
