I am using Appeon PB 2017 R3.  When I save a composite datawindow object as PDF file , column close to the right margin is getting chopped off.  Strangely it's happening ONLY on some machines, on few other machines it seems to be working fine.  All machines are windows 10 operating system with same build/updates.

Is it anything to do with the paper orientation? Is it something needs to be done on the datawindow object so that it is consistent across all machines.

Thanks

Praveen

Hi Chris, Same reports were working fine as it was using Sybase Datawindow PS printer for generating pdf files, but this issue started after migrating to Appeon 2017.  I tried changing the fonts to Tahoma 8 on one of the reports but on user machine Header of the Report is distorted ( overlapping columns names).

Is there any other workaround to fix these issues?

Thanks

Thanks Chris for the response. When I open a DWO in datawindow painter default font is Tohoma 10, I change it to Tahoma 8 and saved it, but when I open the same DWO it still shows Tahoma 10 again.  Am I missing something here or do I have to change the font of text & columns to Tahoma 8?  Please advise.

Thanks

Hi Praveen;

When this happens to me, I often find that the PB App's workspace folder and/or PBL files have been write protected. I would check the folder's properties where the app resides for "read only" and if true, reset the folder and its subordinate files to be writable. HTH

Hi Praveen;

  This could be caused by the user machine's "Default Printer". The DWO actually renders itself within the DW Control as a "bitmap" image. The DWO Engine uses the "default" Printer's fonts to render the bitmap image. So if the default printer on some of your user's PS's are just a virtual driver (ie: "Generic / Text Only driver") vs a real printer. That will certainly affect the PDF generation. Even some real printers lack the odd font as well. So make sure that your DWO's use a consistently available font. Personally, I build all my PB Apps using the Tahoma 8 point font - the default used by MS-Office in newer MS-Windows O/S releases.

Regards ... Chris
