Hi Team,

I wanted to export data to excel file using the powerbuilder SaveAs feature. I can successfully save the datastore data to pdf with SaveAs pdf method, with all specific formats. but when i save the same data in excel, using SaveAs (type Excel),  the formatting of the excel data is not proper and it looks very clumsy. Could you please suggest how can i overcome this.

Another solution is to use an Excel template file, pre-set the table styles in advance, and then use OLE to fill in data into the cells. Alternatively, modify the table styles using OLE after the 'dw.saveas' operation.

Hi Somit,

The Excel export is only a raw data export without formats.

You could try to use the external tool DW2XLS.

AFAIK Appeon plans formatted excel export in a later release.

In September 2023, it was communicated in a related Q&A thread that the formatted Excel export enhancement has been, unfortunately, removed from the PB product roadmap:
