Hello,

Is the RTF control now fully 64 bit compatible?  Not having this control caused us to build a 32 bit bridge for our 64 bit applications

In the 12.6 2017 time frame the 64 bit control was a MS RTE place holder

Is there a new RTF control coming in R 2018?

Thanks

Yakov

Hi Yakov;

  Sort of new ... PB2018 is re-introducing the TX Control back into the IDE. PB2018 will allow developers to now choose between the two (TX vs TE) controls for the RTE and RT DW use as they will now be both "built-in" (included).

  Unfortunately, both the TE and TX controls are 32 bit only for the time being (AFAIK at the moment). You will still get the 64bit Microsoft RTE control "under the hood" when you deploy a 64bit PB App EXE.

Regards ... Chris

When compiling to 64-bit native .EXE the RTE is still the Microsoft one.  The vendor that provides us the RTE control you see in a 32-bit compile also offers a 64-bit version.  We are planning to integrate that in the product in the future.

But if the current RTE doesn't meet your needs and you prefer to use the RTE that was in PB 12.6 (TextControl), this will only be available in 32-bit version.  Although TextControl was not included in PB 2017, we are adding it back into PB 2018 for backwards compatibility reasons.
