I found a small bug in PB 2022. As you can see below the row count in PB 2021 appears on the bottom of the database painter but NOT in PB 2022.

Hi Jorge;

  The problem is related to the System Options dialogue. If you set the "Reload painters when opening workspace" in the Workspace tab ON, then this anomaly will occur. Since I never use this setting, my rows display in the DB painter always works.

  So for now as a workaround, just set the "Reload painters when opening workspace" setting OFF and this problem will not occur.

  Note that Ken will submit this anomaly issue still over to the Engineering team.  HTH

Is Ken Guo running PB2022 on a VM or a real machine?

Hi Jorge,

Thanks for the feedback. I reproduced the problem based on your description.
I will report this problem to the development team. I noticed you’ve submitted Bug 9470 in the Support system. We will reply to you in the Support System if any progress.

For now, when this problem happens, you can close the Database Painter and then open the Database Painter again to work around this problem.

Regards,
Ken

Hi Mark, Please open a support ticket because even though it may be related areas in your code most likely it is two different fixes we need to do in the product and we may not be able to fix both of them exactly at same time. So much better for tracking to keep things separate.

If I close the database painter in the current PB 2022 session and reopen the database painter and retrieve some data the row count shows up as you can see below. I don't have to do this in PB 2021. It works fine in PB 2021.

I think I found the problem with the database painter and the row count not showing in PB 2022. If I had the database painters opened in PB and closed PB and then open PB it does not show the row count after a retrieve:

@Arnd Schmidt.

You are right. Here is what I see with the database painter active:

And that's what I get when running a query (example: select * from messages;).

Andreas.

Hi.

Don't know why you don't see that information. In my installation it's there.

I'm using build 1892...

Andreas.

Your active sheet does not seem to be the DB Painter. Your screenshot looks like the active Sheet is the Datawindow Painter.

Can you check the rowcount in the DB Painter?

Hi, Jorge -

I did a quick search and did not find this bug reported anywhere. Please open a bug report for this issue so that Appeon can investigate it:
