Hi PB people,

I am having an issue with a Rich Text style DW and I was hoping for any advice/insights into resolving this.

I have been using PB for over 20 years but despite that, I don't have much experience/knowledge regarding Rich Text DWs. The problem I have is shown in these images from part of the dataobject. I am using PB 2019 R3.

The first image is from the design painter and, as can be seen, it lines up pretty well and there is no issue with the 'Participation Rates' size and positioning. -

However, at run time and in the preview painter, this section of the dataobject displays as below -

ie the Participation Rates cell has a width that extends past the other fields it should line up with.

Pardon my ignorance here because as I said, my knowledge of Rich Text DWs is quite limited so maybe I'm missing something obvious, but does anyone know what I can do to get this to all line up?

Regards,

Nathan

Hi Nathan ;

Do you have any Modify() code that adjusts the width at runtime?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your response and a good point, but no, there are no modify calls on any property of the DW.

This behaviour occurs in the DW preview painter as well as at runtime, so it seems to be something inherent, and not something that is adjusted only when it is run.

Thanks,

Nathan

The first line of the DW source says 'release 19;'.

I'm thinking of just starting from scratch and re-creating the dataobject, and see if I get the problem with a 'new' version.

R19 would be correct.

Yes, I've had to recreate the odd DWO again to solve an unwanted behaviour that I could not track down. I think sometimes, weird things creep in after a multitude of PB version migrations. :-(

Thanks Chris. Yep the release in the source looks to be correct.

Yes, this would not be the first time I've just 're-started' a dataobject after things got unexplainably screwy either, so as I said, I think I'll try that. It's a bit odd for this one because this is a brand new dataobject I only created in the last month, it has not been migrated through any PB versions other than the one it was created in. But regardless, I'll try the recreate route and see how I go, unless anyone else has any ideas.

Cheers.
