Resolved Powerbuilder2017R2 installs but does not run on Windows Server 2016

Powerbuilder2017R2 successfully installed on a Windows Server 2016 Datacenter virtual machine.  This is a newly created virtual machine.

This is from the event viewer showing Powerbuiilder successfully installed:

"Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Appeon PowerBuilder 2017 R2. Product Version: 17.0. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Appeon Limited. Installation success or error status: 0".

When I click on the shortcut to run PowerBuilder2017R2, it does not start and I see this in the windows event viewer as an Application Error:

Prior to installing PB2017R2, I installed Sybase SQL Anywhere 16. 

I tried running PB2017 as administrator and in compatibility mode for Windows 8 and Windows 7 but PB2017R2 did not start.

Does anyone have any advice on getting PowerBuilder2017R2 starting on Windows Server 2016 DataCenter?

Hi Jeff;

    The PB 2017 IDE is not certified for any version of the MS-Windows Server editions of the O/S as outlined in the PB Installation Guide. The IDE is only certified for MS-Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 currently. Applications built form the IDE though are certified for W2016 (and lower) server editions of MS-Windows.

Re-install making sure you run the installer as administrator.

I was able to get PowerBuilder running on Server 2016 by re-installing PowerBuilder.  It appears my previous install did not work because I went into the custom install and chose not to install some database drivers, translaters and the sample code.
