There is this Mobile Cloud Target in Appeon PowerBuilder.
On the first sigth it seems that we can develope mobile apps with this product.

But the table in https://www.appeon.com/products/appeon-mobile.html indicates that Why has the PowerBuilder Mobile Cloud Target has no Offline Compatibility?

What will happen if the connection breaks down?

Is there a realistic scenario where you can use a mobile app without (even temporary) offline capability?

The "offline capability" means ability to read/write data to supported local DB on the mobile device - currently SQLite and SAP's UltraLite are supported.  So far less than 20% of our customers are using this features.

I think what you are describing is building in exception handling rather than designing an app that can work (display/save data) without network connection.  The exception handling APIs for network connectivity (e.g. checking for cellular and WiFi connection) are supported in the Mobile Cloud App target.
