Hello everyone,

We start to evaluate Powerbuilder 2022 Beta with our application but at the migration we face a problem.

The common PBX files that come along with powerbuilder are not there.

PB2022 there is only the PBDOM.PBX.

it will be released a 2022 upgrade for rest of the files too?

pbejbclient.pbx

pbsoapclient.pbx

pbwsclient.pbx

I didn't find any particular information about this issue on the release notes or in the community.

tks!

Since PB 2017 R2 there is the HTTPClient Object. This is the way to go for SOAP Web Service (appeon's advice)

For sure... it's up to you to build the correct XML Request and to parse the XML Response via pbdom.

This can take some (boring stupid coding) time - depending on the complexity of the request / response schemes :-(

Another comment on replacing the old SOAP functionality. I recently replaced an old SOAP webservice with HttpClient. I was just going to replicate the SOAP calls with HttpClient, but luckily I checked with the vendor and they also now offered a REST API equivalent of the their SOAP API, so it made it a bit easier because I didn't have to mess around with the SOAP messages.  It might be worth checking with your vendor before automatically going down the SOAP route.  You'll still need to do all the messy parsing of the return data, but in my case I could choose either XML or JSON.
