My Powerbuilder 2022 build 3289 started crashing unexpectedly yesterday afternoon (3/19/2024). I am unable to open any datawindows that I had built successfully that morning. The IDE just hangs. I tried clearing the registry setting for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sybase\PowerBuilder\22.0\Layout and prior to that just for the 'Datawindow' setting. Did not help. Tried to rebuild workspace fully, copy entries from .pbl in question to another one. Still no effect. I am at a loss on what to do. Would appreciate any help! Thank you in advance!

Hi Pslms;
By "cleaning" .. does that meant that you deleted the "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sybase\PowerBuilder\22.0\Layout\Default" registry entry and all it's sub-folder entries while the PB IDE was closed?

I meant I deleted the subfolders under the "default" folder but could not delete the default setting itself. The IDE was closed prior to deletions. This was the error I got when I tried to delete the 'default' key within the default folder.

Hi Pslms;
Try deleting the "Default" folder again when running REGEDIT in "Admin" mode.

Sounds like there might be a Windows "Policy" blocking you from performing that registry update.
You might have to get one of your Operation Teams to perform that registry update for you.
