Our application package is installing some PowerBuilder standard installation to run but it not working in Windows 2019 Server. Could you please tell me whether this version of PowerBuilder standard installation (PB 2019 Build 2082) is compatible with Windows 2019 server? My client is going to use Citrix but Citrix will not support lower version of server so they want to install it in this 2019 server. What would be the challenges faced during the Citrix based PowerBuilder application?

Full support for 2019 build 2082 ends at the end of this week. You should look at upgrading to the latest build of 2019-R3.

Hi Dinesh;

  The W2019 supported version of PB is 2019 R3. I would also upgrade to the latest maintenance release which would be build 2728.

Regards ... Chris

Hi Chris.

I checked it and support was introduced in R2 (https://docs.appeon.com/pb/whats_new/ch04s01s01.html). Of course R3 is a better choice if they decide to upgrade.

Hi Andreas ... yes, R2 is basically almost out-of-support and R3 has had some key MR's - so IMHO build 2728 would be the best option at this time to move to a LTS version of PB that has W2019 server support. BTW: PB2022 will support W2022 server.

Andreas is correct.

I'll add that the Long Term Support release at this time is 2019R3, and I strongly recommend you migrate to that version. We are using b2703 and it works with Citrix on a Windows 2019 server.

I believe that support for window 2019 server (only for running applications built with PB) was introduced in PB 2019 R2. You are in an older release, so you may not be eligible to get support (open a case through https://www.appeon.com/standardsupport). If you simply need help, then you should provide more information, as what you mentioned until now is to generic.

Andreas.
