Historically I've used Amyuni as an engine to create PDF files programmatically.

The problem with Amyuni is it is set up as a printer under Windows although it is not a print driver. Also, the user has power to disable/install/uninstall Amyuni. Also Amyuni is no longer upgrading their product.

Can anyone suggest a good alternative? I do not want a printer solution. I'm looking for an API.

TIA

Hi Larry;

 What about using the free built-in Native PDF feature in Appeon PB? That builds PDF's directly without depending on extra software installs or printers.

Regards ... Chris

Hi Chris, Armeen, Roland.

I never knew about NativePDF until you told me. My first tests are very positive. I hope to be able to retire Amyuni and now use NativePDF but I'll need to do some testing. Thanks a million.

Hi Larry,

in case NativePDF shouldn't work for you, PDF24 Creator is a freeware pdf virtual printer that is still supported and works well.

Also CutePDF works great for me. (https://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp). Get the zipped setup and install both the files. It's too FREE.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm going to evaluate NativePDF and see whether it suits. If not I will explore PDF24 & CutePDF. Thanks guys.
