Hi PB Experts

Can anyone please confirm if Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 is compatible with Appeon's version of Powerbuilder 2019?

Hi Srikanth,

PowerBuilder 2019 is based on 12.6, so if the external C++ you created in VS 2015 works with PB 12.6 then it should continue to work when you upgrade.

Best regards,
Armeen

Hi Andreas,

Thanks for your quick response. From our current Powerbuilder 12.6 application, we are calling an oracle proc/package through which we are triggering the VC++ code to generate EDI files to be sent to other applications/customers. Currently the Visual studio version we have is MS Visual studio 2015. Since we are planning to migrate to Appeon PB 2019, I wanted to make sure that the interfaces will work as-is, though there is no direct connectivity between Powerbuilder and VC++ code. Please let me know if you need any further information. Thanks again.

Hi.

What you mean by compatible. You ask if they can coexist? If this is your question, I've used PB 2019 with VS 2015 without any issue. I've also used VS 2017 & 2019 with PB 2019.

Andreas.
