Hey Olan...I would agree that it would be nice to be able to do that out of the box so-to-speak. In the absence of that, in addition to Roland's suggestion via the link he included in the Q&A John provided for you, you can also change the icon a couple of other ways:
1) Click on the start menu, locate the PB IDE 2022 menu item, right click and choose More then Open file location, right click on the shortcut and choose properties, then click change icon. Once you have selected a new icon it will default to this icon on the Taskbar and in the Start menu listings (no, the IDE icon does not change as that's taken from the executable but at least you have the text in the window frame to know the version you're working with)
2) Create a shortcut of the PB executable on your desktop (or anywhere) and basically go through the steps above starting with right-clicking of the shortcut (however this approach won't change the icon in the Start menu, then again it should be obvious which menu item you're choosing).
After you've done either of the above, while PB is running, right click on the taskbar icon and click Pin to taskbar.
Yes, more steps than we might like but accomplishes what is intended.
I have a modified PB22 icon and it looks like this:
Sorry Appeon if I'm infringing on any copyrights, protections or negatively impacting the brand/ identity but that certainly wasn't my intention...just satisfying a need for quicker, clear differentiation of apps via their icon.
P.S. Congrats on your retirement Olan, hopefully you'll stay involved in the Community!!
HTH...regards,
Mark
And yes, something like this would indeed help us differentiate between the various versions.
