Recent upgraded to pb2019 r3 from pb2019 r2 / source control - GIT

 

it takes longer to save changes.  Other panels will flash.

 

What is PB doing differently from r2 to r3 during the save process?

Hi Jeff,

I tested it on our side, and the time it takes to save an object is almost the same with PowerBuilder 2019 R3 and PowerBuilder R2 (both in source control with Git).

However, the number of expanded PBLs does affect the time it takes to save an object when source control is used. This is because the IDE is trying to refresh the source control status for all visible objects in the System Tree. This logic is inherited from the legacy SCC in PB IDE and the development is look for a solution for this issue. As a workaround, please try to avoid expanding too many PBLs when you editing your code. And see if it mitigates the issue.

If this is a different issue and you actually see different behaviors between PowerBuilder 2019 R3 and PowerBuilder R2, please open a support ticket for this issue. Thanks!

Hi

 

Add to this... when I unplug the application from GIT, saves are instance.  Anybody else experiencing this delay?

 

Anybody else have this issue?  Unfortunately, we have already leverage new features in r3 that do not allow us to step back to the r2 release.

I have opened support tickets in the past, with zero luck.
