Good morning
We are experimenting on porting some of our applications from Oracle to PostgreSQL.

A strange situation happens to me:
If I do a select on a table or view that does not exist, the connection drops. It also turns to you?

Also I wanted to know if i can connect to PostgreSQL with native drivers and not via odbc

thanks in advance
Gimmy

ok, let's take a step back.
Which drivers do you recommend appeon for PostgreSQL to avoid problems?

Thank you

I'm talking about the PostgeSQL transport drivers. You must have installed these to connect to the DB. I'm suggesting that you test them with another client other than PB to see if the problem is at that layer or in the PB ODBC potentially.

Hi Gimmy

Firstly I do not think there is native support for PostgresSQL.

Secondly the disconnection error you are getting is rather odd but could be a problem in your ODBC driver. What happens if you use another product to connect (like excel) does the select cause a disconnection?

Cheers

David

Hi David;

  FWIW: You are correct ... PB2017R2 only supports an ODBC connection interface to the PostgreSQL DBMS currently.
