Resolved ODBC connection error

Hello Guys,

  • When we are using only Appeon generated PBD's on a machine where Powerbuilder is not installed  we are able to run the application but
  • When we are trying to run the application with Appeon PowerBuilder generated executable on the same machine where Powerbuilder is not installed gating error(Error connecting to local DB=NCSDBRPTC, (error code :-1)) before login the application.
  • but with the same executable we are able to login on the machine where Appeon Powerbuilder is installed.

            

 Please advise me How can i resolve it

Hi CP;


   FYI:  With ODBC DB connectivity, the onus is in the definition & settings of the DSN itself.
I would first use the O/S's ODBC Manager to verify that the DSN settings are correct & that you can connect to the DB from there.
If that utility will not connect, then there is no hope for any PB App to connect.
Also, make sure that you declare this as a "System" DSN.
