Greetings, we have an English language app built on PB12.6.  We need to translate to Spanish in the near future.  I've downloaded the Enable tool, and not having much success.

The issue seems to be the translation database.

Anyone have experience using the tool?

Thanks, Dennis

Enable doesn't do an automatic translation, because of the poor quality of automatic translation technology when phrases are short and out of context (as it happens in UI).
The Enable extractor (a parser that understands PowerBuilder grammar) extracts all the phrases/texts to be translated. A high-performance runtime engine replaces them at runtime in the language selected by the user.
On top of that, Enable offers to adapt the UI depending on the language (e.g if the translated text is larger than the original one, automatic right-to-left...).
You can delegate the translation to a translator sending the excel spreadsheet with the texts to be translated. Once it's translated you import the translation in the Enable repository.
Nevertheless, you can use a web service to translate the excel spreadsheet, if you want a draft translation.

If you have further questions, we can run a 1 hour implementation session, and you will see with your own eyes how easy it is.

Did you read the Quick Start Guide? I haven't used it myself but I believe you have to run the extractor to add the text strings from your app to the database. I don't think it will actually do the translation. You have to enter the translation of the text strings yourself.

Yes, I have it here in front of me, it doesn't seem very intuitive.  What I'm really looking for is some real world experience and maybe some examples using the tool.  I've gotten parts of it to work, but can't seem to get it to come together.
