All - we have installed the new PB19 version but now need the new pbdom19.pbd's as the pbdom17's are not working, can anyone point me to a download of these or should they be in the install package already? Thanks.

They are installed by default and can be located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\Shared\PowerBuilder.

Starting with PB 10.5, the PBD files are not required. Instead you can import the extension into a PBL. Importing into a PBL library allows it to migrate to a new version automatically along with the rest of your target. It also makes for one less file to deploy.

Hi Roland ... FWIW: I never use the PBNI route for WS's, PBDOM, etc as it is a lot easier to just swap out a PBxxxxNnn.PBD when upgrading from PB release X to Y than trying to remember to re-import PBNI extensions again. I have seen too, so many PB developers struggle with the PBNI (PBX) route upon a migration because the resulting objects were not placed in one PBL - thus, causing a maintenance headache. I have found that the PBD swap is more intuitive & straight forward for the maintenance developers. Just my $0.02 based on a few years of PB experiences. ;-)

hi Roland and thanks. I need a little more clarity though. What do you mean exactly when you say extension? Are we to import the pbdom*.pbd / pbsoap*.pbd into a pbl?  These two appear to be system files without source code. Didn't get any suggestion like this for the PB17 upgrade.
