In "Elevate 2021 Keynote" on PowerBuilder 2021/2022 features

At 8:20 mark, it says, "Reuse PowerServer REST APIs by other apps"

As far as I know from Appeon's prior communication, REST APIs generated by PowerServer cannot be reused by other/internal apps.

 

At 1:26:40 mark, it says, "Asynchronous processing in PowerBuilder"

I did not see this in the Roadmap or Release Bulletin or the documentation.

 

Please clarify...

Technically the APIs can be reused, but after working with various customers we realized it is simpler to create a non-PB Client Web API from the same DataWindow then try to adapt the external system to consume data in the DW format.  So long story short, you reuse your DWs and have SnapDevelop scaffold a non-PB client Web API for you.  The other thing is with this approach you can scaffold synchronous or asynchronous Web API whereas PowerServer is only synchronous.
