Hi Guys

Hopefully you can help. I have been accessing a MySQL database for years. While in the office everything works beautifully. Now that I am working from home and using a VPN connection I get terminated often, every few minutes in fact.

It seems to be a time out issue of some sort. Does anyone have an idea on why this might be happening?

I did research on the web and made changes to the database as described below, but no luck.

Thank you

Tom

I don’t see how this could be cause by a PowerBuilder issue.  In the past I had experienced such issue when using VPN to remote in, and for me the issue was instability of the Internet connection between me and the server.  If it is so consistent it might be your WiFi.  Check this out for example:https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/VPN-connection-drops-every-several-minutes-on-my-AC1750/td-p/1323785

The funny thing is, it keeps the connection to the network and all the drives, but drops the connection to the database.

It might be that when your VPN drops it automatically reconnected, but for some reason that doesn't automatically reconnect the database. I could be guessing and might be something else. But assuming you are using same Database driver, same PowerBuilder version, same config, etc. it's hard for me to think that PowerBuilder is causing this issue.
