Hi Chris and Andreas,

Thank for your explanation.

Hi Doreen;

  The R3 build 3391 installation would have asked you to install Snap & .Net 8 framework if not present. If you declined that step, then they would not be there.

  Also, your problem could be because you did not have "local admin" rights during the installation. So one alternative would be to run the Appeon Installer again. If the Snap and/or .Net prerequisite is is then identified as missing, let the installer fix these missing components.

Regards ... Chris

Hi Chris. Only PowerBuilder 2022 R3 build 3391 was aligned to support .net core 8. Not SnapDevelop. This is documented at the link I provided.

Hi.

This is normal. SnapDevelop 2022 supports only .net core 6. This is documented. Please take a look to the following link:

Improvements - - Release Bulletin for PowerBuilder

If you want to absolutely work with SnapDevelop and .net core 8, then try using SnapDevelop 25.0.0 which you can find at:

Downloads | DevMagic Website

Then read the bulletin. It is clearly stated: "If the user wants to edit a ".NET 8" PowerServer Web API solution (such as configuring the auth template), due to the fact that SnapDevelop does not support .NET 8, the user has to use an external C# IDE that supports .NET 8, such as Visual Studio."

I did the installation without disabling anything. .net 8 is not an option in SnapDevelop 2022 R3 build 3391. But it is in SnapDevelop 25.0.0.

Yes, you only need Snap 2025 if you intend to do C# development in .Net 8.

Also, you could use Visual Studio IDE instead as well for that if you have it installed. If your just doing .Net 8 Udit testing with PowerServer projects, then Snap 2025 is not required. Of course, if you want to try another "beta" product - go 4 it!
