We are attempting to publish a remote application using Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS) on Windows Server 2016.  The client/server application was developed using Powerbuilder 2017 R2.  When we attempt to run the published app the program does not start and nothing is logged.  Are there any known issues running Powerbuilder programs as remote apps published by RDS?

The application works when running as a remote desktop client that has access to the server's desktop.  When published as a single application it does not work.  Any suggestions on how to debug?

I would suggest creating a small simple one window app that connects to the same DB. Focus on making that work first. Make sure that you have the correct bitness of the run time DLLs installed as well. Also that the run time DLLs match your PB version (R2).

Hi Steve;

  FWIW: You still need to deploy the Pb "run time" DLLs and any 3rd party controls / DLLs and of course, DB drivers.

  If you go into the PB help file & type "deployment", it will give you a detauled list of what to deploy. Also, the PB Pacjager utility that comes with the IDE can do all the run time DLL packaging for you into one MSI.

HTH

Regards ... Chris
