Good day.  We are running Powerbuilder 11.5 and are reviewing all of our applications for the Log4j issue.  Can anyone confirm that the best course of action is to just remove the files manually for this older version too.  I realize this version is not supported.

 Thanks,

Tammy Vaughan

Hi,

Have a look at https://www.appeon.com/standardsupport/search/view?id=7649. There's an attachment somewhere with a security bulleting from Appeon.

Yes, you can delete them. I don't think there'll be a replacement for them, since Appeon doesn't really use them. It's just left-overs from the past.
Apart from the files mentioned in the bulletin, you might also want to get rid of this one:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Sybase\Shared\PowerBuilder\WEB-INF\lib\eas-client-15.jar contains Log4J-1.x   <= 1.2.17 _OLD_ :-|

The one mentioned above is from my PB12.6 installation. I imagine there must be something similar to the 11.x version.

regards.

Removing the old file is indeed the way to go.
You can replace it with a newer version if the functionality provided is required.
