Hi everyone!

When trying to sign a .NET assembly in then Sign tab of the project painter (by specifying a new strong name key file) the following message displays after entering the new key file name and clicking OK:

"Cannot create a strong name key file. Check if the .NET SDK is installed correctly."

Of course, the SDK is installed. I'm using Powerbuilder 2017 R3 Build 1858.

What could be the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, René. Thanks for answering.

I downloaded the .NET SDK Framework 4.7 for Windows 7 (my current developer machine) from Microsoft Download Center and, after installing, I see that files are put in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows (not in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows as you mention). Why that? Can't PB recognize the installation path? What to do to get the files installed in Program Files (x86)? Maybe moving them? Is it a 32/64 bit issue? (the download page does not offer the "bitage" option).

Excuse me so much questions. I just want not to discard any element.

Sorry Miguel, I don't know.

I have Window 7 64 bit and it automatically installs it to x86 directory.

I don't know if it may be a 32/64 bit issue.

You may try to add the directory with the binaries to the path variable.

I had already added the binaries to path. No go!

I'll check this out further and let you know any findings. Thanks again!

Maybe related to this: https://community.appeon.com/index.php/qna/q-a/powerbuilder-12-6-can-t-detect-net-framework-4-6-1-sdk

But check twice: Do have really installed the SDK? It is not the same as the Framework! Installtion directy of SDK is C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\...

HTH,

René
